Within our software lab in Delft, the Netherlands, we currently have one vacancy for experienced WEB and Microsoft C-sharp or Visual Basic dot Net developer (experienced with Visual Studio 2015 and/or 2017).


As a software developer, you’ll be part of a development team and the focal point for the testing and developing of our Visual z/Secure client software and the new to be designed WEB interface that will bring compliance facilities for auditors via a WEB dashboard.

As WEB and .NET Visual developer you are responsible for building and testing the zSecure visual client software based on the given specifications and in some cases, specific client requirements. In addition, you will participate in the design, building and testing of our compliance WEB dashboard and you will be responsible for building and maintaining our security Qradar apps.

You will be part of the Delft Software Lab in which we design and build the z/Secure security software for the IBM Mainframe platform (z servers). Our software will exploit z/OS and z/VM operating system features and is interwoven with multiple z/OS security software products as for example RACF. It also supports multiple subsystems like CICS, IMS, DB2 and MQ and send data to external products like IBM’s QRadar and HP’s ArcSight.

About The Job

As software developer, you are the primary contact for the product specific related questions, issues and release planning. As such you will have to work together with the product owner to define and track release content based upon new customers’ requests, existing defect tickets, but also take care of the currency support and define and help to build new products or opportunities. You will participate and/or organize web sessions for customers and co-worker to resolve problems or demonstrate new functionality. As developer you are also the prime contact for L2 support team and co-workers that participate in Proof of Concepts.

We have our own documentation team that is responsible for all our documentation and as developer you will also have to work with that team to ensure the correct documents are available to the end-users of the product.

As developer, you will also develop new features or add new functionality to our z/Visual client software, and you will act as a L3 support engineer to diagnose and resolve reported problems. For testing you will work closely together with the QA/Test Team and you of cause can be involved in testing some other developer’s code, like functional verification testing or regression testing for a new release.

We are using key components of the Agile development cycle and the developer needs to provide feedback on usability, serviceability and documentation and reports the current status to the appropriate audience.

Within our development organization we strive to develop using some of the most relevant agile development principles and by doing so developer will work closely together with other team members.

Our backlog planning can start on an epic level and will be broken into stories that can be executed during fixed length sprints.

As both our software and the z platform are considered to be highly complex, the will to succeed, a strong personal drive and the ability to think analytically above average, are considered to be very important personal abilities.

Our ideal candidate
Is a self-motivated individual, with a minimum of four years’ experience as a software developer on either a z server platform or Unix-Linux platform,
Must be willing to gain knowledge of the z Platform and relevant subsystems from a security point of view.
Has at least six years of programming experience in one or more of these languages: VB.NET and/or C#, Python 3, HTML5, PHP, JS and SQL
Has at least five years front and back-end WEB development experience
Has experience with MS Visual Studio
Is used to work with ambiguity in a matrix oriented, fast paced, environment

Has some (basic) zServer (mainframe) knowledge or experience
Has some zServer assembler, PLX or REXX programming experience
Has some zServer sub-system knowledge like: RACF, ACF2 or Top Secret
Some experience with the z/Secure software suite

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
English (Spoken/written): Fluent

Preferred Tech And Prof Experience
Dutch (spoken/written) : Intermediate
z/OS Knowledge
Master’s Degree in Engineering
